RefCam Captures Vinicius Junior's Explosive Reaction to Controversial Last-Minute Equalizer in Stunning Close-Up

La Liga has published RefCam footage from Real Madrid's 1–1 stalemate against Real Betis, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the heated exchanges between players and the match referee throughout the game.

Real Madrid opened the scoring at La Cartuja via Vinicius Junior in the 17th minute, but the evening turned sour for the away side as Betis clawed back a late leveler, with Héctor Bellerín capitalizing on defensive disorganization to beat Andriy Lunin in second-half stoppage time.

A number of Real Madrid players disputed Bellerín's equalizer, arguing that Ferland Mendy had been fouled in the lead-up to the goal. Despite their protests, the strike was allowed to stand, adding to Madrid's growing list of dropped points in the title race.

Following the draw, Álvaro Arbeloa's side now trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by 11 points with only five matches remaining, effectively ending any realistic hope of claiming the title this campaign.

Referee Soto Grado's body camera footage from the match captures the frustration of Real Madrid's players in vivid detail, with Federico Valverde, David Alaba, and Vinicius Junior all seen arguing over various calls throughout the game.

Following Bellerín's equalizer, Grado can be heard telling the protesting Madrid players, "I'm going to check for a possible foul." Vinicius Junior is seen walking toward the referee with his arms spread wide, visibly shaking his head in disbelief.

Valverde then steps up to Grado, urging him to "look at it," and adding, "I believe he (Antony) grabs him (Mendy) and it ends up being a goal."

On the other side, Betis' Bellerín and Diego Llorente also approach Grado, with Llorente telling the official: "Don't let VAR influence you."

Arbeloa Claims Referees 'Don't Understand'

Speaking to the media after the game, an embattled Arbeloa directed sharp criticism at the standard of refereeing in La Liga.

When asked whether a foul should have been awarded in the build-up to Betis' goal, he told reporters: "Yes, for me it's absolutely clear. It doesn't take much to throw someone off balance, and they go down. To recognize that, you need to understand football, and that's where we have a serious problem — especially with those who are responsible for making these decisions. They neither know nor understand the game.

"Another late disappointment, which has happened to us on numerous occasions and which I don't think we deserved. We created chances, we had a penalty shout in the first half that could have put the game to bed."

The Referees' Technical Committee (CTA) has since issued a response to Arbeloa's remarks, maintaining that both the referee and VAR made the correct call in allowing the goal to stand.

Betis' contentious late equalizer is not the only moment captured from the referee's viewpoint in the footage. At one stage, Grado is seen calling Vinicius Junior back after the Brazilian attempts to take a free kick before the official is ready.

"I just want to play," a frustrated Vinicius says after hearing the whistle, as Grado explains that he is still in conversation with Bellerín.
