Chelsea have reportedly made it abundantly clear they will not entertain any offers for homegrown talent Josh Acheampong, labeling the 20-year-old defender "untouchable" and placing him alongside the club's most prized assets.
Acheampong has attracted attention from multiple Premier League clubs according to BBC Sport. Despite making 30 appearances last season, he barely surpassed the 1,000-minute threshold, leaving the young defender dissatisfied with his limited role.
Nevertheless, Chelsea and new head coach Xabi Alonso have rejected and will continue to turn away any summer advances for Acheampong. The adaptable defender is set to stay at Stamford Bridge, regarded as a key pillar of the club's long-term vision, with his contract running through 2029.
The youngster has already offered glimpses of his ability, and he'll continue to develop and flourish wearing Chelsea's colors.
Being handed the "untouchable" label highlights just how highly the club's leadership and incoming manager rate him, particularly since only a handful of players at the club are afforded that same status.
Which Players Are Deemed 'Untouchable' at Chelsea?

Alongside Acheampong, defensive midfielder Moisés Caicedo, creative force Cole Palmer, and prolific striker João Pedro round out Chelsea's four designated "untouchables" heading into Alonso's reign.
Caicedo recently put pen to paper on a new deal keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2033. Palmer's contract shares the same end date, and despite speculation linking him with a move away for much of 2025–26, the midfielder made clear his commitment to remaining in west London.
Pedro arrived at the club last summer and is similarly tied down until 2033. An outstanding debut campaign brought the Brazilian to the attention of other European heavyweights, most notably Barcelona, but Chelsea have been unequivocal: Pedro is not available.
While not explicitly mentioned in the report, skipper Reece James and Brazilian prodigy Estêvão are also considered players Chelsea have no plans to sell.
That said, there are certain high-caliber players the club may be open to selling should a suitable bid come in.
Fernández, Cucurella Not Considered 'Untouchable' by Chelsea

Enzo Fernández and Marc Cucurella grew unhappy with Chelsea's direction and openly voiced their frustrations over decisions made by the club's hierarchy back in March, with Fernández even receiving an internal ban for his thinly veiled interest in Real Madrid.
Both players are now reportedly open to departing after the club missed out on Champions League qualification. Chelsea are said to be willing to sanction their exits, but only on their own financial terms — with Fernández reportedly carrying a $161.2 million (£120 million) asking price.
Fernández and Cucurella rank among Chelsea's longest-serving players and serve as leaders in an exceptionally young squad. While they aren't being forced out, their public declarations of wanting to leave have cracked the door open for potential transfers.
Despite arriving only last summer, Liam Delap and Alejandro Garnacho could also be on their way out. A wave of departures is anticipated this summer as Chelsea embark on yet another rebuild while navigating a UEFA financial settlement that could result in severe penalties if breached.
It promises to be a hectic summer at Chelsea following a turbulent 2025–26 campaign, but the club is determined to retain its core talents as they look to usher in a new chapter under Alonso.
