Arsenal Brace for Extended Saka Absence as Gunners Prepare to Face Everton

Arsenal resume their Premier League title defense on Saturday, but face a tricky home clash against Everton as they look to stay in touch with league leaders Manchester City.

The Gunners were embarrassed by Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break, surrendering their flawless Premier League record, but back-to-back slim wins over Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have breathed new life into Mikel Arteta's side.

Currently sitting three points adrift of the Cityzens, who face Aston Villa on the same day, Arsenal will be without several key players. Fortunately, their home record in this fixture remains strong, with four wins from the last five encounters at the Emirates Stadium.

Here's how Arteta might line his side up against the Toffees.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs. Everton (4-2-3-1)

Arsenal's predicted lineup vs. Everton

GK: David Raya—Arsenal may have shipped two goals in their midweek draw with Bayern Munich, but Raya was characteristically sharp, pulling off a string of acrobatic saves. A point-blank stop to deny Dayot Upamecano stood out as the highlight.

RB: Ben White—With Jurriën Timber having featured in Munich, Arteta is expected to bring White back into the starting eleven. He once again has two outstanding right-back options available, giving him the flexibility to rotate during a congested fixture schedule.

CB: Ezri Konsa—There's a possibility Cristhian Mosquera gets a run-out against Everton for the first time since August, but Konsa's growing partnership with Gabriel makes him the clear first-choice stand-in for the sidelined William Saliba.

CB: Gabriel—The Brazilian is well known for his threat from set pieces, particularly in a Gunners side that heavily relies on them, yet he has gone over 10 months without finding the net, with his last goal coming against Bournemouth in Arsenal's opening match of the calendar year.

LB: Riccardo Calafiori—With Piero Hincapié nursing an injury, Arteta was unable to rotate his left-back options midweek. Consequently, Calafiori, who got on the scoresheet in his last home appearance at the Emirates, is set to start once more.

CM: Declan Rice—Arsenal's midfield lynchpin delivered yet another decisive performance at the Allianz Arena, netting the crucial equalizer to register his first goal of the season.

CM: Myles Lewis-Skelly—Bruno Guimarães has put in some impressive displays of late, but having featured in three games over the past 10 days, he may be rotated out in favor of Myles Lewis-Skelly in the engine room.

RW: Noni Madueke—"It doesn't look good at all," Arteta admitted when pressed on Bukayo Saka's concerning injury sustained against Bayern. Reports suggest he could miss up to two months, with Madueke set to fill his role against Everton.

AM: Martin Ødegaard—Arsenal's captain produced a stunning assist for Eberechi Eze against Bayern, once again showcasing his creative brilliance as he builds on an exceptional start to the season.

LW: Eberechi Eze—Following a deflating early substitution the previous weekend, Eze bounced back with an impressive display against Bayern. Coming on for Saka in the early stages, he broke the deadlock with a composed finish and continued to trouble Konrad Laimer throughout.

ST: Kai Havertz—Viktor Gyökeres netted both home and away against Everton last season, yet Arteta remains reluctant to hand the imposing Swede a starting role. Havertz looks set to earn his third consecutive start.
