The 2025–26 Champions League final will see Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain compete for European supremacy in what will mark their fourth encounter in just the past two years.
Prior to the 2024–25 season, Arsenal and PSG had crossed paths only four times, with two draws during the 2016–17 Champions League group stage representing their sole 21st-century clashes.
Their very first meeting also ended level, before Arsenal edged PSG 1–0 in the second leg of the semifinals to progress to the 1993–94 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final. The Gunners ultimately claimed that now-defunct trophy, which to this day remains their last continental triumph.
Jumping to the present, the Champions League final in Budapest will be the eighth official meeting between the north London and Parisian clubs.
With their three most recent encounters coming just last season, we take an in-depth look at their 2024–25 clashes ahead of the two European powerhouses meeting for the most coveted prize in club football on May 30.
Arsenal vs. PSG: 2024-25 Meetings
1. Arsenal 2–0 PSG (Oct. 1, 2024)

Just the second matchweek of the inaugural Champions League league phase in October 2024 brought the future finalists together at the Emirates Stadium, and it was Arsenal who claimed all three points.
Mikel Arteta's side were dominant throughout, with first-half strikes from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka proving enough to seal the win. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma endured a night to forget, playing a part in both goals conceded.
It may be hard to believe now, but PSG managed an xG of just 0.40 during their visit to the Emirates. While reigning Ballon d'Or holder Ousmane Dembélé is now thriving, at that point Luis Enrique had placed him on an internal suspension, and he didn't even travel to London.
Arsenal coasted to a comfortable victory and PSG's rocky start to the league phase continued, though the two sides would meet again under vastly different circumstances later in the season.
2. Arsenal 0–1 PSG (April 29, 2025)

Arsenal and PSG squared off in the 2024–25 Champions League semifinals, with Arteta's squad arriving to the home first leg brimming with confidence after sensationally knocking out Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. Having already beaten PSG in the competition and facing a side that had struggled to eliminate Aston Villa in the previous round, Arsenal and the Emirates were primed for the occasion.
Everything was turned on its head just four minutes in when Dembélé, now fully integrated into Enrique's system, fired past David Raya to give PSG the lead. The goal was set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who had arrived at PSG during the January 2025 transfer window. Notably, the build-up and context bear a striking resemblance to Dembélé's goal in the second leg of the 2025–26 semifinal against Bayern Munich.
PSG dominated the first half but couldn't extend their lead. The second half saw the hosts push for an equalizer ahead of the return leg, yet Donnarumma atoned for his earlier Emirates nightmare with five saves, ensuring PSG headed back to the Parc des Princes holding a 1–0 lead.
3. PSG 2–1 Arsenal (May 7, 2025)

Arsenal mounted a spirited fightback in Paris in an attempt to overturn their first-leg deficit. Despite the Gunners creating the clearest opportunities, PSG's ruthless efficiency saw them win the second leg outright as well — and the margin could have been even greater.
Fabián Ruiz struck a superb goal within the first 30 minutes to double PSG's aggregate lead. Vitinha squandered a penalty in the second half, but it mattered little as Achraf Hakimi scored three minutes later to make it 3–0 on aggregate with under 20 minutes to play.
Saka pulled one back for Arsenal in the 76th minute, but it wasn't enough. Donnarumma delivered another outstanding performance with three saves, including a breathtaking stop to deny what would have been a stunning Saka effort. The final whistle confirmed PSG's place in the final — only the second time in the club's history.
Arteta would famously declare that Arsenal were the superior side across the two legs, though it offered scant comfort to the Gunners. Later that month, Enrique's team dismantled Inter Milan 5–0 in the final to claim PSG's first-ever Champions League title.
