Not only would this jaw-dropping figure make the 23-year-old the most expensive signing in Chelsea's history, eclipsing the approximately $144 million (£107 million) spent on Enzo Fernández in 2023, but he would also become the priciest British player of all time.
Elliot Anderson, Rogers's England teammate this summer, only claimed that record earlier this summer when he completed a move to Manchester City for $156 million (£116 million).

Given the magnitude of this proposed deal, Rogers must be considered in a wider context. Should the transfer be completed, Chelsea will have executed the second-most expensive deal in Premier League history, narrowly surpassing the $156.6 million (£116.5 million) Liverpool paid for Florian Wirtz, with the Reds' $168 million (£125 million) agreement for Alexander Isak being the only fee that stands above it.
