Ten months on from the opening qualifying round of the 2025–26 Champions League, the grand finale is now set.
A grueling campaign that started with the preliminary rounds, got underway in earnest during the league phase, and reached extraordinary heights through an exhilarating knockout stage, now comes down to a single decisive clash for European football's ultimate honor this month.
Underdogs have caused upsets, giants have been toppled, and just two clubs remain in contention for the Champions League trophy — the most prestigious piece of silverware in club football.
Here's everything you need to know about the 2025–26 Champions League final.
2025–26 Champions League Final Date, Venue

After nearly a full year of relentless continental competition, the Champions League's climactic match will take place on Saturday, May 30.
The Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary will serve as the host venue — the 67,000-capacity stadium having never previously been selected for a Champions League final. The ground did, however, host the 2020 UEFA Super Cup and the 2023 Europa League final.
UEFA has moved the kick-off time for this year's final earlier, with the match now scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. BST (12 p.m. ET, 9 a.m. PT).
The Champions League final typically kicks off at 8 p.m. BST (3 p.m. ET, 12 p.m. PT), but the adjustment has been made to "enhance the matchday experience and benefit fans, teams and host cities," according to UEFA.
American rock band The Killers will headline the opening ceremony in Budapest.
2025–26 Champions League Final Format

Unlike the earlier knockout rounds, the Champions League final is a single-leg contest, which is why it takes place at a neutral ground. A winner must be determined on the day, with extra time followed by a penalty shootout if the scores remain level after 90 minutes.
It has been exactly a decade since extra time and penalties were needed to settle the Champions League final, with Real Madrid defeating Atlético Madrid on spot kicks in 2015–16.
Fortunately for those involved in this year's final, players cannot be suspended for accumulating yellow cards from previous rounds — the slate was wiped clean after the quarterfinal stage. Only a red card can result in a player being banned from the match.
2025–26 Champions League Final Teams

Arsenal were the first side confirmed for the 2025–26 final, exactly 20 years after their only previous appearance at this stage. The Gunners fell to Barcelona in 2005–06 and are now chasing their first-ever European crown later this month.
Mikel Arteta's side benefited from a relatively favorable knockout draw, but still merit enormous praise for finishing top of the league phase and remaining unbeaten across all 14 of their European fixtures so far.
After winning all eight league phase games — including victories over Bayern Munich and Inter — they went on to eliminate Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP, and Atlético Madrid to book their place in the final.
Defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain await them, with the French powerhouse reaching back-to-back finals as Luis Enrique's dominant side continues to impress. Much like last season, they navigated a challenging route to the last two.
PSG finished only 11th in the league phase and had to come through the playoff round, where they dispatched fellow Ligue 1 side Monaco. They then overcame Chelsea, Liverpool, and Bayern on their way to the final — a path filled with formidable opposition.
Having eliminated Arsenal in last season's semifinal, PSG will enter this rematch with confidence. Their home and away victories over the Gunners marked their first-ever wins against them, having gone without a victory in the previous five encounters.
