Brief-tenured former Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has found new employment after being named manager of Paris FC, making a return to France where he had previously established his credentials while leading Strasbourg.
It was Rosenior's role as Strasbourg's manager that made him an attractive candidate for BlueCo, the parent organization that owns and oversees both the French club and Chelsea.
That tenure, which kicked off with a six-year deal running through to June 2032, came to an end after just four months following a worrying run of poor results at the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Yet with Chelsea already grappling with a shortage of leadership and experience within the squad, and Enzo Maresca abruptly departing the club under difficult circumstances on New Year's Day, Rosenior's standing has remained largely undamaged — particularly in France.
Why Paris FC Hired Rosenior
Paris FC spent the majority of the past five decades outside France's top flight, but were acquired by the billionaire Arnault family in 2024, with Red Bull purchasing a minority share. Last season marked the club's first appearance in Ligue 1 in 46 years, with a rocky start that threatened immediate relegation to Ligue 2 eventually turned around after Antoine Kombouaré took charge in February.
Kombouaré ultimately steered Paris FC to an 11th-place finish in the final table, but the club's lofty ambitions prompted a swift decision to part ways with the former Paris Saint-Germain defender.
Paris FC made no secret of viewing Rosenior's appointment as a significant acquisition, proudly labeling the Englishman as "one of the most promising coaches of his generation."
Antoine Arnault highlighted Rosenior's well-known ability to nurture and develop young talent.
"I have always been impressed by his footballing philosophy and what he has achieved with his teams, which are often built around young players," Arnault said.
"Many players have already shown their excitement, and we share that feeling, as he perfectly represents the vision we want to pursue — to firmly establish Paris FC in Ligue 1 and to improve year on year, both in our style of play and our league standing."

Arnault had previously voiced hopes that Paris FC might one day attract Jürgen Klopp to the French capital, should the club eventually reach the Champions League. That was hardly far-fetched given Red Bull's presence as a shareholder, though Klopp is widely expected to be announced as Germany's next national team manager in the near future.
Whether he ever makes a return to club management remains to be seen.
