Silver Lining: How Rashford's Injury Absence Could Actually Boost England's Prospects

Marcus Rashford is expected to pull out of the England squad for the four forthcoming international fixtures over the next two weeks, due to a persistent hip issue—an absence that could ultimately benefit his recovery in the long run.

The Manchester United attacker could be joined on the sidelines by teammate Kobbie Mainoo, who is also believed to be nursing an injury following Sunday's 1–1 stalemate against Fulham.

Rashford featured for 77 minutes of the match, with United conceding just past the hour mark before salvaging a point through a late Matheus Cunha equalizer. Head coach Michael Carrick told beIN SPORTS afterwards: "We had to bring [Rashford] off as he had a bit of an issue."

Carrick also admitted he was uncertain whether it was a minor concern the player would quickly shake off. Rashford had appeared to pick up a knock during the first half at Craven Cottage and was also on the receiving end of a reckless challenge from Timothy Castagne in the second half, which earned the Fulham defender a yellow card.
